Stream The Disney+ Happy Holidays Collection This Christmas
MUPPETS, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, ICE SCULPTURES AND MORE AWAIT!
Christmas isn’t just a time for rushing around buying gifts and attending office parties, though both can be fun!
Sometimes, the best Christmas evenings involve settling around the TV to watch a heartwarming classic with a cup of hot chocolate, mulled wine and perhaps a mince pie or two. It is a time to relax, as you see in midwinter and the expectation of a new year.
Disney+ has you covered this year, with the Happy Holidays Collection returning for the third year in a row. Let’s look at a few of the new festive favourites on show, from old classics to saga specials…
The Muppet Christmas Carol (Full-Length Version)
For us, it isn’t Christmas Eve without a showing of this Jim Henson classic in the late afternoon.
To celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary, Disney is listing the rare full-length version to include the song "When Love Is Gone" from December 9th.
The Santa Clauses
Tim Allen is back as Father Christmas in a new six-episode series continuing the popular film franchise! Unfortunately, after almost 30 years of running Christmas, our hero finds his magic decreasing in power as the festive season’s popularity wanes.
This year, Father Christmas must find a way to juggle the job with much-needed family time.
Best In Snow
This puntastic title refers to a new reality festive special where teams from around the world are thrown together in a snowy village, attempting to carve ice sculptures from blocks.
This looks like a good bowlful of cheer with Kermit the Frog and special live music performances!
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
We’re confident this is a parody of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from the late 1970s, of which George Lucas famously said he wished he could "destroy every copy ever made".
This version will likely be slicker, with fewer weird cameos from Jefferson Starship or Bea Arthur… though who knows, perhaps Taylor Swift will pop in to sing a few carols!
Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic
This one-hour special is a nice, quick documentary to stick on in the afternoon, taking audiences behind the scenes at Walt Disney World and Disneyland as staff turn the theme parks into the "Merriest Place on Earth" for the holiday season.
Home Alone
An all-time classic Christmas feel-good comedy film, Home Alone is available on Disney+ along with other films in the collection.
It would be hard to choose a more perfect Christmas film for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy together.
Noelle
2019’s Noelle was a fun, fresh comedic fantasy offering on the Father Christmas (Kris Kringle) story, focusing on his daughter, who must find her runaway brother to help save Christmas when they take over arrangements from their father.
Same Time, Next Christmas
Christmas and comedy romance dramas go as well together as mince pies and brandy butter. So if you’re looking for a feel-good romantic film to watch with your partner this year, check out Same Time, Next Christmas, featuring a rekindled romance between two childhood sweethearts who meet as adults in the same Hawaiian resort.
Jingle All the Way
Jingle All the Way is another 90s classic featuring the brilliantly cast Arnold Schwarzenegger as a failing dad trying to compete for his son’s attention against his ex-wife and new husband. As our hero attempts to secure a coveted Turbo Man action figure for his son, many festive high jinks ensue.
