Hasbro Pulse Star Wars Vintage Collection Action Figures Available for Pre-order
COLLECT HEROES AND VILLAINS ALONGSIDE RARE VINTAGE COLLECTION OFFERINGS
Star Wars Day 2023 saw Hasbro reveal an exciting array of new Star Wars toy collectables for fans to pre-order in time for Christmas 2023.
The models are all constructed in the style of retro 1970s Kenner action figures, with a vintage look and packaging. Despite this, they feature plenty of characters from newer Star Wars TV serials such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, creating a fun blend of present-day Star Wars mixed with the old.
The Kenner brand name is synonymous with Star Wars, having been the company that first produced toys and action figures for the series between 1978–1985. Kenner had no more idea than anyone else just how successful the film series would be and was famously taken entirely off-guard when millions of fans demanded to get their hands on official merchandise for A New Hope in 1977. In the end, they resorted to selling an ‘Early Bird Certificate Package’ (essentially a piece of paper promising a toy in the future) which fans could cash in for the real action figures once the company had a chance to actually manufacture them!
Suffice it to say, since then, the Star Wars merchandising machine has run smoother than a Naboo starfighter and proved to be more profitable than a Podrace betting booth.
Head over to Zavvi to see the collection for yourself, including pre-order options on the newest models, or join us below as we look at a few highlights from the upcoming releases. Most of the models will be available from 13th December 2023…
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection – Luke Skywalker & Grogu
This fantastic model is inspired by the recent reappearance of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in the Disney+ hit show The Book of Boba Fett, where everyone’s character favourite, baby Yoda, trains in the ways of the force. This action figure reminds us of a younger Luke ferrying Yoda around on Dagobah during his own training sessions in The Empire Strikes Back, and it is always pleasing to see Luke donning his iconic all-black Jedi outfit.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Luke Skywalker (Jedi Academy) Action Figure
$16.99
This is the model for collectors who want to own a definitive rendering of Luke with his stylish green lightsaber. This 3.75-inch scale action figure includes character-inspired accessories and premium articulation and also happens to cost less than the above Hasbro Pulse offering.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Grand Inquisitor Action Figure
The Grand Inquisitor was one of the most popular prequel-era Star Wars villains, appearing frequently in animated series such as The Clone Wars and Rebels. However, it was not until the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show that the Master of the Inquisitorius finally appeared in a live-action show. This Hasbro Pulse vintage collection figure presents the character based on their appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, with plenty of poseable options.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Boba Fett (Tusken) Action Figure
Over the years, we’ve seen plenty of action figures showcasing Boba Fett in his recognisably battered green Beskar armour and helmet, so it’s good to see something different from the bounty hunter we all know. This action figure takes the form of Boba’s appearance in the recent Disney+ show, where he travels through the Jundland Wastes and remote deserts of Tatooine with a band of Tusken Raiders. The rough blue robe is outstanding on this model and can be displayed with the hood up for a moody display or removed completely to show Boba Fett in his battle-ready black jerkin.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Tusken Warrior & Massiff Action Figures 2-Pack
Talking of Tusken Raiders, here’s the ideal Star Wars Hasbro action figure set to pair with the above collectable, showing a richly-decorated Tusken fighter with their faithful pet massif. Stand-out accessories include a staff accessory, headgear and a tribal belt.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Moff Jerjerrod Action Figure
This ambitious Moff oversaw the construction of Death Star II. While commanding efforts on board the second Death Star, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine routinely visited him, pressuring him to produce better results. This collectable has some fine details, including the precision-shined military boots, rich grey uniform and hand blaster, making it an ideal replica of this recognisable Imperial officer class.
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Wicket & Kneesaa (Star Wars: Ewoks) Action Figures 2-Pack
This should catch your eye if you’re looking for weird and obscure Star Wars memorabilia. Do you remember the Star Wars Ewoks animated series that ran from 1985–1986? This quirky addition to the galaxy far, far away remained relatively forgotten until it was added to the Disney+ platform for a new generation of fans to discover. These two models look like something you might find at a car boot sale of old 90s toys, with colourful decals and extra-retro packaging. You’ll also receive a collectable coin for each Star Wars action figurine.
