STIMULATING SETS
August has a veritable bounty of LEGO sets being released, so we thought we would look at a range of them, not just the most popular. Also, keep an eye out for our upcoming blogs about the latest LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel releases.
BIOMIMICRY BRICKS
$499.99
3,893 pieces
2,925 Insider Points
This 1:8 scale model is a fantastic replica of the real-world McLaren P1. 3,893 pieces come together to form this beautiful, aerodynamic model. Taking inspiration from nature, the real-world P1 is a sleek vehicle, and LEGO 42172 recreates the shape with panache.
The seven-speed gearbox, suspension, and V8 piston engine are to be admired. Other features include the butterfly-style door opening mechanism and the adjustable wing.
Just like the real thing, LEGO 42172 has its own unique serial number, which allows access to exclusive online content.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
LEGO Technic 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar and LEGO 42173 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Grey Hypercar
$49.99
801 pieces
325 Insider Points
The real Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is one of the fastest road-legal hypercars in the world. Only 125 were made, but LEGO has given us the opportunity to build our own in either white or grey. Both sets have the same number of pieces and are £46.99.
Adults and children alike will delight in the moving V8 engine, differential and unique dihedral synchro helix door system. This allows the doors to rotate 90 degrees and move outwards, just like their real-world counterparts.
Another feature is the steering, and there is a detachable knob that allows the steering system to be activated.
BUSTLING BRICKOPOLIS
LEGO 60423 Downtown Streetcar and Station
$89.99
811 pieces
585 Insiders Points
This is a perfect addition to any LEGO City Brickopolis; LEGO 60423 brings a flash of colour with the two bright red driver’s cabs and carriage. Customers can alight onto two platforms, which include access ramps.
The turquoise and green coffee shop offers refreshments for the six included LEGO minifigures. Plenty of information boards help direct weary LEGO travellers to the correct platform.
