2024 LEGO Technic Lineup Revealed

The latest LEGO Technic automobiles have been revealed, jump-starting 2024 with a combination of track tire screeches, off-road dust, and the noise of industrial heavyweight vehicles at work.

The latest cars, trucks, bulldozers and harvesters follow the reveal of three new LEGO Technic space sets coming in March – read all about those models here.

What Are The Latest LEGO Technic Vehicles?

Off-road and tarmac track racing fans have three new models to add to their collection –

NEOM McLaren Formula E Race Car 42169  |  $49.99

NEOM McLaren Extreme E Race Car 42166  |  $26.99

Off-Road Race Buggy 42164  |  $19.99

These eye-catching racing cars combine modern electric vehicle constructions with fast-paced designs suited to different environments. All three sets are aimed at younger LEGO fans to engage their imaginations with the engineering world and introduce them to the building skills needed to tackle larger Technic sets in the future.

The two McLaren cars include an interactive ‘double pull-back’ function, which can send the cars speeding forward, while the off-road buggy makes the most of realistic flex steering, a moving four-cylinder engine, and suspension. Each car also has its own specialised rubber tires, including chunky off-roaders and smoother tires suited to traditional tarmac.

The NEOM McLaren Extreme E Race Car and Off-Road Race Buggy are both available now, but you’ll have to wait until 1st March 2024 to get the NEOM McLaren Formula E Race Car.

LEGO Technic fans who prefer heavy-duty, industrial vehicles have three additional models to consider –

Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck 42167  |  $32.99

John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester 42168  |  $39.99

Heavy-Duty Bulldozer 42163  |  $12.99

It is interesting to see how many of the new models are based on e-type vehicles as the world tries to move to a post-fossil fuel world. The stand-out vehicle from this set is arguably the garbage truck, which includes some smart decals and labels to make it stand out as a cutting-edge, green energy city vehicle. The recycle bin and operational side loader also provides a fun, interactive touch to dump the waste inside the vehicle.

The harvester should also prove a popular model, with its classic John Deere colours and distinctive forage header tools mounted on the front, which accurately replicates the engineering aspects of a corn-cutting machine. The bulldozer also offers good value for money, though we would have liked to see a larger model with room for more details.

All three models are available to purchase now.
