Amazing Fan-Built LEGO MOCs – Part Two
CHECK OUT THESE STUNNING FAN-MADE LEGO HALLOWEEN MY-OWN-CREATIONS
Autumn is upon us, which means orange leaves and blustery days as the nights draw in. It also means pumpkin-spiced hot drinks, nights in with a spooky film or two, and other Halloween shenanigans. Autumn is crisp and invigorating, painted in rich hues of gold and crimson. Leaves crunch underfoot, and the air carries a nostalgic blend of earthy scents and cozy anticipation for the winter season ahead. It is a perfect time of year to stay indoors with a warm drink and design some seasonal LEGO creations.
Last month, we brought you the first article in our new blog series exploring our favourite MOCs designed by the amazing LEGO fan community online. This month, to celebrate Fall 2023, we’re taking a look at a few of our favourite Halloween-themed my-own-creations!
There are some truly spectacular LEGO builds online, many of which make it onto the LEGO Ideas roster. Don’t forget to let us know if you see something worth a mention.
Haunted Cemetery
This eye-catching design from gabizon presents a classically gothic walled graveyard filled with crumbling headstones and creepy statues. Eagle-eyed viewers will also spot plenty of hidden seasonal details, such as the pumpkins on the gate posts, several cobwebs, a wandering spider and two ghosts. The ground is littered with fallen orange leaves and mushrooms, adding to the effect of an aged, abandoned space.
Special mention goes to the twisting trees, built with an aesthetic combination of brown bricks with orange autumn leaves on the branches.
The Muppet Movie Monster Mashup Mansion
This Muppet’s haunted mansion by Josh Parkinson is packed with fun details and looks fantastic. The dark red, green and black house is suitably haunting (but with some style), and the scenery around the base feels decidedly Halloween-esque, with orange weeds, pumpkins and a dying black tree hugging the building.
Nevertheless, the real show starts when you step inside. The interior hosts four rooms and an attic at the top, with each room displaying an iconic Muppets character engaged in some Frankensteinian fun. At the top, we see Bunsen Honeydew conducting experiments on poor, helpless Beaker, surrounded by scientific equipment. On the second floor, Miss Piggy reads from an ancient tome beside a shelf filled with potions, while in the other room, Gonzo does his best Dracula impression. Below, we see Kermit warming himself beside a fire while The Swedish Chef cooks up a questionable feast in the kitchen.
Halloween Wreath
Brick_Built_Babe deserves enormous credit for envisioning this Halloween-themed seasonal wreath. We are used to seeing Christmas wreaths adorn doorways in December, but this orange-filled offering is equally fun. We particularly like the use of the rare orange sword leaf plant elements and the cute skulls at the top and bottom. The above link also includes building instructions if you want to add this one to your decorations this year!
Halloween Witch’s Cauldron
If you’re looking for more Halloween decoration ideas and fun activities for kids, this cauldron from otterbournelego is a great way to combine a love of LEGO with a practical purpose. The hollow bowl can be filled with sweets and candy to give to trick-or-treaters or used to store other edibles at your Halloween party. This intelligent build uses 33 separate black brick elements, which combine to provide a classic, thick, textured LEGO effect.
