Exclusive LEGO Space Set Gifted to LEGO Employees
SUPER-RARE PURPLE ASTRONAUT OFFICIALLY ENTERS LEGO CANON AS INTERGALACTIC DJ
Following a Twitter reveal from LEGO Group’s Senior Model Designer Justin Ramsden, fans have been treated to a sneak peek at a super-exclusive LEGO Classic Space set presented to attendees at the LEGO Design Seminar 2023.
The festival – hosted only for members of the LEGO design team – took place last week under the theme of ‘Cosmic Daydreams’, with plenty of interplanetary decorations on show.
Instagrammer ‘know.your.pieces’ shows off the astronaut-themed set.
DS2023 Cosmic Daydreams contains several minifigures, including the ultra-rare Purple Classic Space Astronaut, which has now been officially canonised as an intergalactic DJ with their own set of vinyl decks!
Other figures include a robot and a white-uniformed astronaut who has a striking resemblance to 1980’s comic book star Jim Spaceborn.
Check out the set’s official description below:
Everyone has their role to play in space – Pilots, Scientists, Engineers, even Mech-Operators. But the purple Spaceman, that one’s the Dreamer. Dreamers imagine the impossible and bring their wildest thoughts to life! They inspire us to look up, ask the big questions, and build a better universe for everyone.
The set is clearly marked ‘NOT FOR RESALE’, so don’t expect non-LEGO employees to get their hands on it anytime soon unless they want to get in trouble with the LEGO overlords. But that won’t stop fans from recreating the set using pre-existing bricks and elements.
