Give Your LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean A Touch Of Movie Magic
SIX DISPLAY CASES WITH MOVIE-ACCURATE PRINTED BACKGROUNDS FOR THE LEGO DELOREAN
“If you’re gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?” — Doc Emmett Brown.
The LEGO Icons Back to the Future Time Machine 10300 is the definitive brick-built model of the famous time-travelling DeLorean car from Robert Zemeckis’s Back To The Future trilogy.
It’s hard to imagine a better version of this iconic cinematic vehicle arriving (back) in future anytime soon. Along with all the fun details and accessories you could want, the set is intelligently designed so fans can assemble one of three vehicle versions from the movies.
Not too long ago, we took the time to install a BricksMax lighting kit onto one of our BTTF models, which reminded us just how good this vehicle looks on display, with its quintessentially 80s features and quirks. When was the last time you saw gull-wing doors on a modern car?
This hard-to-find set rightly remains a bestselling staple from the LEGO film replica range and is perfect for displaying as part of your home furnishings and interiors.
How To Display Your LEGO DeLorean Time Machine
Our Back to the Future Time Machine Display Case for LEGO 10300 (Large) is an ideal premium display case option for the vehicle, with our usual easy screw fittings and 3mm clear acrylic panels. But there is more to this presentation box than meets the eye – discerning collectors will note the product includes a whopping six optional printed backdrops designed to heighten the display of your model with backgrounds inspired by scenes from the films.
Let’s take a closer look at these Back to The Future movie-inspired art displays…
“Since when can weathermen predict the weather, let alone the future?” — Doc Emmett Brown.
One of the most familiar recurring locations in all the films is the famous Hill Valley clocktower, which we have recreated over three distinct periods.
In Back To The Future – Part One, the Doc takes advantage of Marty’s prior knowledge of a lightning strike on the tower in 1955 to give the time machine the power surge it needs to take the young McFly back home to 1985. This event is foreshadowed in the 1985 present day at the start of the film, when a campaigner shoves a collection tin in Marty’s face, demanding a donation to “Save the clocktower!” from the same storm damage, which was never fixed.
In Back To The Future – Part Two, Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown travel forward to 2015 and alter history, so Biff Tannen’s grandson Griff and his cronies crash into the clocktower (now a futuristic shopping mall) instead of Marty’s misled son. This event occurs in the film’s opening act after an epic hoverboard chase scene between Marty-in-disguise and Griff.
In Back To The Future – Part Three, Marty and the Doc find themselves back in the old wild west, where they witness the clock tower first being constructed. Biff’s great-grandfather, criminal outlaw Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen, tries to hang Marty from the rafters before the Doc saves him.
The clocktower has been replicated over all three time periods, with a printed background for the 1955, 2015 and 1885 versions (all pictured above).
“I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.” — Marty McFly.
If you’re looking for another iconic backdrop from the first Back To The Future movie, check out the Lyons Estate scene, complete with the classic 50s upbeat American advertising hoarding Marty uses to conceal the vehicle when he accidentally travels back to 1955.
Lyons Estate features in all three films – in this version, the “home of tomorrow” is in the early stages of construction. Beyond the unfinished lion statue gates, the undeveloped greenbelt land stretches into the distance, soon to be filled with new suburban homes.
“Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” — Doc Emmett Brown.
Our signature printed backdrop for BTTF Part II shows the futuristic car skyway, a sci-fi pastiche of the distinctive American highway – only this time in the clouds!
As pictured, this display case pairs especially well with our Back to the Future Time Machine Display Stand for LEGO 10300, which can be used to show the vehicle mid-flight, banking onto the hovering road. The display stand is also a great option when you want to exhibit the LEGO Time Machine DeLorean outside the display case, perhaps while hosting your next Back The Future watch party.
“Marty, you’re going to have to do something about those clothes. You walk around town dressed like that, and you’re liable to get shot!” — Doc Emmett Brown.
Our final bespoke film background replica shows the 1885 wild west outskirts of Hill Valley, where Marty first arrives near the start of BTTF Part III, only to be greeted by a whooping skirmisher band of mounted native American horseriders. The desert horizon is decorated with eye-catching mesas, with a blue sky hovering above.Customer reviews
