LEGO Announces New Peppa Pig DUPLO Range

BRICK TOYS FOR YOUNG BUILDERS ON THE WAY BASED ON POPULAR FRANCHISE

LEGO Announces New Peppa Pig DUPLO Range

Since its launch in 2004, Peppa Pig has proved to be one of the most popular British franchises for young kids – just ask any parent, and they should be able to tell you all about the adventures of cheeky pig Peppa and her family in the fictional town of Peppaland.

The show is renowned for its simple animation style and combination of humour mixed with educational elements aimed at preschool-aged children. Its relatable and light-hearted narrative tells a story of friendship and family through problem-solving and fun activities, such as going to school and making new friends. The show’s success has led it to become a global brand, with merchandise, books, and even a live stage show produced.

Following a recent LEGO press release, the renowned creative toy maker has confirmed that a new Peppa Pig-themed range of DUPLO products is on the way – along with new themed attractions coming to Merlin theme parks.

Celebrating 20 Years of Peppa Pig – LEGO Team Up with Hasbro and Merlin Entertainments

The reveal of a new range of Peppa Pig DUPLO products coincides with the show’s 20th anniversary, and the above teaser image has circulated online, showing Peppa, George, Daddy Pig, and Mummy Pig as DUPLO dolls.

Details remain scarce on what future sets will be released, though LEGO have confirmed they will offer young builders a chance to play out their favourite stories and get creative while learning about nature, friendship and daily routines.

The arrival of Peppa Pig to the brick-built world includes a collaboration between LEGO, Hasbro, and Merlin Entertainments. Speaking about the new DUPLO range, Roberta Cardazzo, Design Manager at LEGO Group, said: “Peppa Pig is hugely popular, and LEGO fans have been asking us to do a partnership for years. It was only natural that the world’s most popular pig needed to come to life in buildable LEGO sets, so we are excited to finally make that happen with the amazing team at Hasbro.”

Casey Collins, President of Licensed Consumer Products at Hasbro, said: “For 20 years, PEPPA PIG has leaned into storytelling that reflects the real lives and first experiences of preschoolers around the world. With kids at the centre of the brand, we recognize the importance of working with best-in-class partners to deliver toys and experiences tailored to her littlest fans.”

New Peppa Pig Theme Parks on The Way

In addition to the new DUPLO toy range, fans will also soon be able to visit Peppa Pig-themed rides and attractions at parks across Europe owned by Merlin, including a stand-alone Peppa Pig area opening at LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark. Germany will also see the construction of a dedicated Peppa Pig theme park located close to LEGOLAND Deutschland Park.

A similar theme park already exists state-side in California, so it will be exciting to see whether Europe can give them a run for their money!

Speaking about the new collaboration with LEGO, Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, said: “We’re really proud to bring Hasbro’s PEPPA PIG to life with the DUPLO brand, beginning with our new PEPPA PIG Theme Park in Gunzberg and our LEGOLAND Billund Resort, as our guests make life-long memories and learn through play.”

Our Favourite Peppa Pig Episodes We Want to See as LEGO DUPLO Sets

When I Grow Up – we’d love to see Peppa and her friends dress up as nurses, police officers and pirates as they decide what they want to be as adults.

Police Station – it would be fun to meet Policeman Panda and Policewoman Squirrel at the Police Station and see if young DUPLO builders can solve the episode’s mystery.

America; The Diner; Canyon Country; Hollywood; Hop, Skip, Jump! – there are tons of fun locations for the pigs to visit, and it would be thrilling to get the RV in DUPLO form.

Desert Island – there’s lots of potential here as Grandpa Pig, Granddad Dog and Grampy Rabbit get themselves stranded on a desert island.

Peppa Goes to Paris – the Peppa family’s trip to the heights of the Eiffel Tower could make for a charming set.

Grampy Rabbits Lighthouse – we love LEGO lighthouse sets, so let’s see a model based on the world of Peppa Pig.
