LEGO Announce the 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale
KEEP ROLLING ROLLING ROLLING!
Wow, so we have been rolling the dice and waiting our turn for LEGO to announce the details of this Ideas set, and now we have it! Due to be released on 1st April 2024 for LEGO Insiders and 4th April for general release the LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale has 3,745 pieces (over 700 more than the original concept) and the GBP price is $359.99. An exclusive gift with purchase (GWP) of a Mimic Dice Box is rumoured for LEGO Insiders that manage to grab this set before 7th April - so we recommend buying sooner rather than later while stocks last. Let’s take a look at what’s going to be in the box.
Features of 21348 Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale
First off, we are greeted with the dragon, who is now red as opposed to the initial green idea and he has been given cloth wings, so whilst they may not be everyone's cup of tea this is an attempt by LEGO to keep the price down. There are a further five hideous monsters to build; a Displacer Beast, an Owlbear, a many-eyed Beholder, Black Pudding and Gelatinous cubes (all with a selection of new eye prints). There are six LEGO Minifigures included with this set, a Halfling fighter, Dwarven Cleric, Orc Rogue, Elf Wizard, human tavern keeper and a Dragonborn, plus there are some skeletons to battle against too. LEGO have really gone all out with these figures as each of them has additional heads so that they can be customised as you please.
WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR LEGO 21348 DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS: RED DRAGON’S TALE?
1st April 2024 for LEGO Insiders and 4th April 2024 is general release.
HOW MUCH IS THE LEGO 21348 SET?
Dungeons and Dragons: The Red Dragon’s Tale is priced at $359.99 – see it at LEGO online.
WHAT IS THE BRICK COUNT?
This set has a total of 3,745 bricks which is a whopping 700 more than the original idea, definitely something for the weekend.
HOW MANY LEGO MINIFIGURES ARE INCLUDED?
The set comes with six minifigures, a Halfling fighter, Dwarven Cleric, Orc Rogue, Elf Wizard, human tavern keeper and a Dragonborn, plus there are some skeletons to battle against too.
The set is completely modular and comprised of three sections; a meadow and dilapidated wall, a tavern and a cliff with a tower. Running underneath the entirety of the set is a huge dungeon, perfect for trapping foes. Once the three LEGO sections are combined it creates one enormous set. This homage to D&D has been created with the vision of displaying the figures in combat situations with the various beastly monsters with open space areas fit for purpose. Just because 21348 Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale has allowed these areas to be created, don’t think for one second that they are bland and lacking in details. All that remains is to turn the sand timer over and watch as the grains fall through until April is upon us and we can release our inner Orc.
