LEGO Micro Rocket Launchpad 40712 – Features

Micro Rocket Launchpad 40712 offers a wonderful accompaniment to the recently retired Icons Galaxy Explorer 10497, matching the vintage LEGO Space aesthetics with a palette of smart blue, grey, and yellow window elements. The box also includes two astronauts in the coveted LEGO Space outfits that look like something out of classic sci-fi serials from the 1970s.

Constructed at a micro scale, these miniature builds are ideal for filling up space on a narrow mantlepiece, spare shelf, cluttered desk or bedside table. If you plan to make any big purchases at LEGO Online, snap up this free add-on to enhance your space travel collection.

Our favourite part of the release has to be the brick-built transport vehicle, which packs plenty of detail into its small size, including an antenna and eight heavy-duty wheels for crossing lunar surfaces. There’s also room for one of the tiny astronauts to sit down in the driver’s seat. After being transported on the vehicle’s back, the rocket also has its very own launchpad and control centre to oversee take-off.

With a fun assortment of micro-scale references to classic LEGO Space sets, including Alpha Rocket Base 483, Mobile Rocket Transport 6950 and Space Patrol 6803, this is a funky set that’s worth getting hold of for anyone who wants to exhibit some vintage LEGO classics.
