LEGO Round-Up – Yamaha Motorbike, Creativity GWP And Advent Calendars
GET IN EARLY ON THESE HOT NEW LEGO RELEASES
There’s been no shortage of brick-built motorbike releases from the Danish LEGO toy powerhouse, including cruisers, scooters, sports tourers and scramblers of every type. With so many models hitting the shelves over the years, it’s great to see a new release catch the eye with a unique colour scheme and contemporary design – we’re talking about the Yamaha MT-10 SP 42159, which has just been revealed on the LEGO website.
Collectors will not have long to wait for this new set, with the motorbike roaring onto the track on 1st August 2023.
For this week’s LEGO release round-up, we’re also taking a look at the latest LEGO gift-with-purchase add-on, along with two early advent calendar releases for this year’s Christmas countdown.
Yamaha MT-10 SP – 42159
$239.99
Adult motorcycle fans and older children who enjoy the challenge of the LEGO Technic range will enjoy this new two-wheeler from LEGO, based on the real-life Yamaha MT-10 SP, the most powerful motorcycle in the ‘hyper naked’ class.
Our attention is immediately drawn towards the cerulean blue wheels, vivid gold chain, and front suspension. This smart colour scheme combines neatly with the black stylings elsewhere to create a stand-out bike, worthy of sitting on display. The LEGO Technic model’s exhibitive potential is heightened by the inclusion of a display stand with the Yamaha logo and motto, ‘Revs Your Heart.’
Motorbike fans will appreciate the number of real-world elements recreated in LEGO brick form, including gearbox features such as the shift drum, fork, ring, and ratchet drum. The superbike also includes a 4-cylinder engine, 3-speed transmission and a chain drive. The hydraulic disc brakes on the front wheel add a contemporary detail to this speed-inspired set. In total, the set uses 1,478 brick pieces.
Head over to the LEGO online store on 1st August 2023 to grab this stunning Yamaha MT-10 SP model.
Fun Creativity 12-in-1 – 40593
$19.99
This fun successor to 2020’s Creative Fun 12-in-1 40411 set has snuck onto the LEGO store in the last few days, though the exact release date and spending threshold to quality for the gift-with-purchase remains unknown for now.
This travel-inspired collection of LEGO bricks and elements contains enough pieces (240 in total) to create an assortment of mini models, including a plane, crab, koala, lion, coral reef, lighthouse, ice cream, and carousel. We can imagine this critter-sized builds making a fun addition to our work desks, perhaps inspiring us to book our next holiday!
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar – 75366 | LEGO Friends Advent Calendar – 41758
$44.99 | $34.99
Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? Definitely… but perhaps the 1st September 2023 release date for these two advent calendars would be a reasonable time to consider stocking up for the 2023 Christmas countdown. With Star Wars calendars regularly selling out, it’s worth buying them early.
It’s also never too early to check out what characters and ships from the galaxy far, far away have made it into this year’s Star Wars Advent Calendar. The LEGO website listing reveals several cute droids and our personal favourite of Luke Skywalker on a sledge and Emperor Palpatine in a festive jumper!
Fans of the LEGO Friends theme can also grab this year’s Friends Advent Calendar, which includes plenty of mini and micro dolls with a focus on the pets of Heartlake City. Kids will love discovering the daily surprise in each window, and we think a few adult fans of LEGO might enjoy it too…
