LEGO VIP Rebranding To LEGO Insiders – All You Need To Know
EARN BONUS POINTS ON YOUR OLD LEGO PURCHASES AND ENJOY STREAMLINED PERKS AND BENEFITS
Friends, take a moment to arrange your minifigures for a solemn moment of reflection – soon, LEGO VIP will be no more. The rewards program, which has been active since 2009, has entered its final month.
But does that mean an end to exclusive points and discounts? Certainly not. From 21st August 2023, the scheme will re-brand to LEGO Insiders, encompassing multiple LEGO platforms, competitions and fan memberships into one streamlined account. By consolidating separate accounts such as LEGO VIP, LEGO Ideas, LEGO Life, LEGO Shop and LEGO Builder into one login, the Danish toymaker hopes to simplify the user experience by removing the need for separate terms and conditions, web pages and benefits for each account.
LEGO Insiders – Bonus VIP Points On Your Old LEGO Sets
The headline feature of the new LEGO Insiders platform is the ability to earn points on all your LEGO purchases, no matter where you originally purchased them. Previously, points were only earned on purchases made directly on the LEGO website; however, the new system means you can scan the unique QR code from each set’s instruction manual directly onto your account to earn bonus Insider points.
QR codes have been included on LEGO sets for the last five years, meaning you can also retrospectively scan your old sets purchased within this timeframe, assuming you still own the box and manual – fantastic news for diligent collectors who made sure to keep their packaging!
LEGO Insiders – What’s Changing?
Beyond this, the scheme will remain essentially the same… for now. The LEGO Group have confirmed that new benefits will be introduced in time, but for the foreseeable future, points will still be earned at the same rate on purchases and can be redeemed against future purchases and exclusive rewards.
Other advantages to the single login include access to VIP benefits regardless of the account used. For example, a user who votes on a LEGO Ideas entry would now automatically qualify for early access to the set without having to use a different account.
Writing on the official LEGO Insiders webpage, Jason Whiting, Global LEGO Insiders Director, said, “We are thrilled to unveil LEGO Insiders – a world of exciting experiences and exclusive rewards including member discounts, gifts, and digital experiences for our new and existing fans alike. At the LEGO Group, we believe that play should be rewarded, so our updated programme makes it easier than ever for people to enjoy all the benefits of being a LEGO fan whilst adding new ways for them to connect with fellow builders and to share the joy of play through a global community.”
