In a galaxy far far away, a new rendition of the LEGO 7181 UCS TIE Interceptor was born, May Fourth 2024 gave us LEGO 75382 TIE Interceptor. This newly designed iconic ship enables you to create an even more authentic Return of the Jedi display.

"Your generic TIE grunt is just plain suicidal. And the TIE defender jockey is bloodthirsty. But the TIE interceptor pilot, he's suicidal and bloodthirsty. When you see a squad of those maniacs flying your way, you'd better hope your hyperdrive is operational."

THE BIRTH OF THE TIE INTERCEPTOR

The Empire wanted a more effective starfighter than the Tie Fighter, so Sienar Fleet Systems set to work to invent a better alternative. They initially devised the TIE Advance x1, which Darth Vader flew during the Battle of Endor.

Sienar Fleet Systems produced a few TIE Advanced X1 ships, but they were not cost-effective, so they returned to the drawing board. This time, they came up with the significantly more advanced TIE Interceptor.

The TIE Interceptor is easily recognisable by its arrow-shaped solar collection panels. They are equipped with six cannons in total, 4 on the wing tips and 2 on the chin. As well as being more heavily armed than their predecessors, the TIE Interceptors were one of the fastest starships in the galaxy.

LEGO 75382 TIE Interceptor captures many details in the cockpit, which can be viewed via the opening hatch. The building techniques used for the wings successfully capture the iconic silhouette of this deadly starship.
